ZTE has launched the super-sized 5.7-inch ZTE Grand Memo, a 4G LTE enabled handset running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean set to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Huawei Ascend Mate.

Featuring a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 5.7-inch 720 x 1280p HD display the ZTE Grand Memo should be a great smartphone for gaming and video watching.

“The ZTE Grand Memo’s large, high definition screen makes it perfect for media and entertainment, but its uses reach far beyond that,” said Mr. He Shiyou, ZTE EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division. “With ZTE’s custom Mifavor UI, a powerful processor, and LTE connectivity, this device offers users a wide array of benefits that go well beyond the capabilities of the typical handset.”

ZTE Grand Memo Features

The ZTE Grand Memo features a 720 x 1080p HD 5.7-inch display, making it more phablet than smartphone, but nonetheless it still looks like a beautiful handset at a slim 8.5mm thick.

Packing a 1.5GHZ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, the ZTE Grand Memo offers a powerful 3200mAh battery for that huge screen. Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the ZTE Grand Memo isn’t quite offering the latest Google OS seen in the Google Nexus 4 but that could change before the ZTE Grand Memo release date.

A 13-megapixel camera in the rear and a 1-megapixel front-facing for video calls makes the ZTE Grand Memo a great pocket camera, with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities.

Full 1080p HD video playback should make film and video watching on that vast 5.7-inch screen a pleasure, whilst an HD version of the ZTE Mifavour UI will provide a simple but effective user experience. The ZTE Grand Memo also features 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, ambient light sensor, accelerometer and comes with integrated Dolby Digital audio technology.

ZTE Grand Memo Release Date and Price
ZTE has yet to reveal any exact dates or prices for the ZTE Grand Memo, although it has said that it expects the handset to launch sometime in Q2 2013.
