Toshiba prices L9300U 4K TV range
Toshiba has revealed more information on its forthcoming 4K TV range, including pricing and availability.
The Japanese manufacturer will launch three sizes of its Ultra High Definition L9300U range, which was initially unveiled in January at CES 2013.
US customers will be able to pick up the TV with a 58, 65, or 84-inch display this August, with prices starting from $4,999 for the smallest model, moving up to $6,999 and $16,999 for the 65 and 84-inch models respectively.
Each set will come with Toshiba’s CEVO 4K Quad Dual Core processor, which will power the company’s Resolution Restoration technology. This essentially brings non-4K content – so most of what you’ll be watching on it, in other words – up to scratch on the super-sharp display.
Other exotic enhancements include Colour Gamut Enhancement (for better colour intensity) and Surface Brilliance Enhancement (which “brings images to life like never before,” apparently).
Meanwhile, the L9300 range’s ClearScan 240Hz refresh rate should ensure silky smooth motion, and the CQ Engine will enable you to tweak the picture settings to your heart’s content. Ideal for home cinema enthusiasts seeking those optimal black levels.
Toshiba’s Advanced Cloud TV feature offers personalised content discovery, better mobile phone connectivity and greater social interactivity. It’ll feature a family calendar, a personal messaging service, photo albums, a streaming news service and more.
Wi-Fi, Miracast and WiDi are built in, so connectivity should be a doddle.
There’s no news yet on a wider launch for the Toshiba L9300U range, but we’ll keep you posted.
