Such a plastic OLED display would be substantially thinner and lighter than the traditional LCD or OLED displays used in other smartphones and tablets.
Weighing only around 50 grams, the plastic substrate OLED screen would be far lighter than the 150g of LCD or 100g of OLED. Also, the 0.5mm thickness of a plastic OLED would make it possible for smartphone manufacturers like Samsung to reduce the thickness of their devices, especially seeing as current handsets have to accommodate LCD and OLED screens, 3.2mm and 1.5mm thick respectively.
The plastic OLED displays would also be much more durable than glass displays, due to it being shatterproof. It could also wield the potential for companies to produce curved display smartphones and tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features

Inspired by the success of the HTC One, Samsung could introduce an aluminium body for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The South Korean company was said to be “worried” about the design and build quality of its handsets and plans to make adjustments to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 prior to launch.
