When is Apple going to release the next iPhone? It’s a question that’s always on the lips of tech fans worldwide.

Well it seems we now have a definitive iPhone 6S release date: 18 September 2015.

That’s according to two major German carriers, which revealed the launch date to German tech website Macerkopf.

The report didn’t detail which carriers it was referencing specifically, but the three major carriers in Germany are O2, Vodafone and Deutsche Telekom.

The 18 September date has been mooted before, last time courtesy of a leaked Vodafone memo.

The date also gels with other rumours that suggest Apple will formally unveil the iPhone 6S on 9 September.

That gives Apple a grace period between the big reveal and the launch date, which is typical of previous iPhone releases.

It’s worth noting that Germany is a first-tier launch country for Apple and, as such, will be one of the first to receive the next iPhone.

Other first-tier countries include Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the UK and the US – and perhaps China this time around.

As such, those countries are also likely to receive the iPhone 6S on 18 September.

Apple is expected to launch two new iPhones at its September event – the iPhone 6S and a phablet-sized iPhone 6S Plus.

There have also been rumours about a 4in iPhone 6C being in the works, although the leaks have been conflicting.

Of course, Apple is yet to officially confirm any information about its next iPhone, including the release date or even the launch event.
