Nokia Lumia event invite

Nokia has scheduled a special Lumia event on April 2, which will reportedly be used to launch the Nokia Lumia 930 and Nokia Lumia 630.

It looks like we could see some brand new Nokia Lumia devices launch at the Microsoft Build Developers Conference next week to accompany the Windows Phone 8.1 launch.

Nokia has just issued a special Lumia invite to press and analysts announcing an April 2 event at the Build Developers’ Conference in San Francisco next week.

The invite says “Join us for more” and uses the hashtag #MoreLumia. There is Windows Phone and Nokia Lumia branding on the invite too that suggests we’re in store for some new Lumia handsets.

There have been rumours circulating about three Lumia devices codenamed Moneypenny, Goldfinger and Martini for quite some time.

A new leak from notorious tipster @evleaks suggests that the Martini is actually the Nokia Lumia 930, and another of the devices is tipped to be the lower-end Nokia Lumia 630.

This could well mean that there’s an update to the Nokia Lumia 820 in store for us at the Microsoft Build Conference.

However, it’s important to note that the little smiley face on the invite is also the logo for Nokia Mix Radio, the company’s music streaming service.

Microsoft is heavily expected to launch the new Windows Phone 8.1 OS at the Build Developers’ Conference, including the rumoured Cortana voice assistant.

The new mobile OS is also expected to introduce built-in VPN support, increased camera functionality, Internet Explorer 11 and other new features.
