A brand new game mode for the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has been announced called Greed Mode.
Although many fans were expecting news on the Afterbirth expansion this week, co-creator Edmund McMillen has instead revealed a new game mode.
He's been teasing it for quite some time, but the new Greed Mode is finally official.
Greed Mode is sort of like a mob/boss rush style survival challenge mode, which heavily relies on shops to give you lots of options as to how you build your baby.
Each floor in Greed Mode will feature one of Afterbirth's new double-sized shops, two treasure rooms, a curse room, a devil room and another large room with a rather ominous-looking button in the centre.
If you press said button, monsters will start spawning, with a timer counting down to zero. Every time the timer reaches zero, a fresh wave of monsters will emerge.
You can stop the spawns whenever you want by hitting the button again, but it will hurt you and reset your earnings bonus.

The Greed Mode's shops will sell a wide selection of items, including boss items and pickups. You'll need them for health and keys to open up the second treasure room for example.
In the usual Binding of Isaac style, McMillen isn't giving us much information about how the mode will work, so you'll still be fairly clueless at the start.
As for the Unbirth info, you could be waiting a little bit longer for that:
"I know it feels like I'm really f**king with all of you at this point, but trust me when I say that this week's delay was simply due to the inability to nail down the specific release date on Steam and since we are still actively working on getting that in stone," explained McMillen.
