Microsoft to hold a special Office event in November

Microsoft Office

Microsoft is gearing up for its big Surface event at the end of this month, but it looks like it's also got something in the works when it comes to software.

The company has sent out media invitations for a special Office event in New York on November 2, where it will, according to VentureBeat, “discuss the changing nature of collaboration.”

We're not sure what that means either, but apparently Microsoft’s Chief Executive Satya Nadella and Office Corporate Vice President, Kirk Koenigsbauer will be in attendance.

Which means we could see something big from the New York event, though just what that could be remains unclear at this point.

Microsoft last held an Office event back in 2014, where it announced Office's debut on Apple’s iPad, so we're expecting something equally as significant this time around.

The company is also planning to update us all on its hardware developments at an event on October 26, where we're expecting to see a new all-in-one desktop PC, new Surface Pro, and perhaps even a smartphone under the brand.

Images of a new Surface keyboard and mouse have appeared online in recent weeks, suggesting we'll also see some new peripherals from Microsoft next week.

Of course, as with the Office event, there's been no official word on what will be unveiled at the Surface event, but we're excited to see what Microsoft's got up its sleeve.

Stay tuned for more, as we'll be updating you on all the developments from both the October 26 and November 2 events.
