Loogun is a cleaner, more hygienic alternative to the bog brush

What if there was a better way to clean your toilet than the humble bog brush? The Loogun is a cleaner, more hygienic and downright more aesthetically pleasing alternative, and it’s seeking funding on Kickstarter now.

Before you pooh-pooh it, let’s take a look. It looks more like a classy vase or sculpture than a toilet brush, so that’s one point in its favour. It also doesn’t have any bristles, so there’s no scraping required and no detritus will get caught in it. Instead, it fires a jet of water to clean your pan, like a hygienic, cleansing water pistol.

The makers claim it’s powerful enough to work below the water line, though we’ll have to test that for ourselves before we can confirm.

It’s powered by four AA batteries. The makers claim it will last 270 uses before needing new batteries.

One of the key selling points is that it’s completely safe. Because it never touches the toilet, it’s completely hygienic for toddlers. It even has a clever feature that means it only sprays if it’s facing down, so there’s no danger of getting a faceful of water.

It’s not too pricey either. It can be had for as little as £23, though at time of writing those at this price were nearly all gone. The standard price is £27, which is still pretty reasonable.

It’s raised almost £5,000 of its £40,000 funding goal, and has 39 days to go. If successful, it will ship in January.
