Metal Gear Online

Konami has published an extensive Metal Gear Online gameplay trailer, revealing key details about the multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid 5.

You can get a good look at the upcoming Metal Gear Online in a brand new gameplay trailer, showing off the more traditional multiplayer component of The Phantom Pain.

The wonderful 11-minute video, which you can watch at your leisure below, discusses the three different player classes that are found in Metal Gear Online: the scout, the infiltrator and the enforcer.

Infiltrators is the class most suited for close-quarters combat. They're quick on their feet and are particularly useful when wearing stealth camo. Be an Infiltrator if you like stealth.

Then there's the Scout. They're well-balanced and are experts at taking out enemies from a distance. According to Konami, they're also particularly skilled at gathering intel. It goes without saying that Scouts weapon of choice is a sniper rifle.

The Enforcers are heavily-equipped and excel at combat. They're best with heavy weaponry and can take a lot of damage before going down. They're basically your Tanks.

The video also outlines mission types, strategies and player abilities, before confirming that the Metal Gear Online servers will go live on October 6. It'll be free to download for anyone who owns Metal Gear Solid 5.

Although there will be several mission types in Metal Gear Online, the one shown off in this video is a Bounty Hunter Mission.

This is essentially Team Deathmatch, but where groups are given a number of tickets that they must get down to zero by killing enemies or capturing them with the Fultons.

There are also bounty points above the head of each enemy, which are basically reputation points. You'll accrue bounty points based on how well you're doing in game. Capturing enemies will earn you more reputation points, because it's more difficult to do.

But don't take our word for it, watch the Metal Gear Online video below.
