Square Enix may be about to reveal a brand new Deus Ex game via Twitch.

Developer Square Enix is running an “interactive reveal” over on Twitch for a game made by one of its western developers.

The Squire Enix reveal, Project CKP, is currently being streamed by “CantKillProgress” on Twitch. There was a chap in cell being interrogated, now he’s just pacing back and forth.

You can even vote on what happens next, although the next one won’t happen for another seven hours at the time of writing.

“Can’t Kill Progress” definitely sounds like a Deus Ex reference to us. It touches on one of the major themes of Deus Ex – the ethical issues surrounding cybernetic enhancements.

Back in October 2013, Head of Eidos Montreal David Anfossi revealed plans for a game called Deus Ex: Universe.

“The concept behind Deus Ex: Universe is to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built a generation of core game,” said Anfossi at the time. “It’s a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before.”

Back then, Anfossi confirmed that the game was already in production for PC, Xbox One and PS4 and most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution were part of the project.

“It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience within Human Revolution and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise.”

Eidos Montreal also teased us with a single piece of concept art for the game, highlighting the focus on “trans-humanism segregation”.

“It represents a ‘ghetto-city’ voluntarily built in order to separate the classes. The people in this segrated class have reshaped their environment, nostalgic for their ideal of Cyber Renaissance. This dark and dystopian vision sets the tone for things to come in Deus Ex.”
