Halo 5: Guardians four-player co-op confirmed

343 Industries has confirmed Halo 5: Guardians will support four-player co-op.

During the Xbox E3 2015 press conference, developer 343 Industries took to the stage in a compelling demonstration to show off the game’s four-player co-op functionality.

Although this is a feature that has been rumoured for the game for some time, this is the first time we’ve seen the game in action.

The four characters can work as a team to take down objectives, although it doesn’t look like there’s any team-based scoring at the moment.

The game will see you control two distinct Spartan teams – one headed by Master Chief and the other by Spartan Locke.

The team-based combat is central to the Halo 5: Guardians and offers drop-in, drop-out co-operative gameplay for the ultimate Halo experience.

343 Industries’ Josh Holmes claims this is the most ambitious Halo game to date and that’s why it’s exclusive to Xbox One.

The developer also revealed that a brand new multiplayer type, Warzone is going to be playable at E3 2015.

Building on the Halo 5 multiplayer beta unleashed as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection last year, the new Warzone mode will give gamers a fresh look at the game here at the Los Angeles-based show.

Halo 5: Guardians is coming to Xbox One exclusively on October 27.
