Rockstar Games has confirmed that the GTA 5 Rockstar Editor is coming to Xbox One and PS4 with the next update.

Earlier this year, with the GTA 5 PC version, Rockstar Games launched the GTA 5 Rockstar Editor.

But with the next update, the Rockstar Editor will arrive on Xbox One and PS4, Rockstar has revealed.

"The upcoming launch of the Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One as the next update to Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online means the next Rockstar Editor content will be the first one with entries across all three platforms," reads the announcement in a recent Rockstar Newswire post. "So the creative competition will be fiercer than ever. Stay tuned for info about that content and forthcoming update."

Rockstar Editor has been around since April, and allows players to record, edit and share videos they've made within GTA 5 on PC.

There's a comprehensive set of tools ranging from filters and camera modes, to audio tweaks and depth of field effects. These can all be accessed from within the GTA 5 campaign and GTA Online to customise content.

The Rockstar Editor also includes the awesome Director Mode, which has become extremely popular among those gamers wishing to create their own machinima. You can stage sequences using characters, props and specific locations from the game.

Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two recently announced that it has shipped more than 54 million copies of GTA 5 worldwide.
