bethesda e3

Bethesda's 2016 E3 product showcase has come and gone, and it was chock-full of announcements for various exciting games. They include Quake Champions, Dishonored 2, a new IP called Prey, Fallout 4 VR and Skyrim Special Edition.

Below you can see a full list of the announcements as they happened, as well as the livestream, which can be replayed and rewound to the moments that interest you.

Announcements as they happened

0352: Dishonored 2

In a detailed set of cinematics and in-engine demonstrations, we have a much better idea of how Dishonored 2 will feel. We see some new powers, including Mesmerise, which sends enemies into a stupor as the main character, Emily Korvald in this case, sneaks around.

The world itself is much more vertical, meaning your powers will have to be used in different ways. The other playable character, Corvo (who was the hero in the first game) will have a different set of abilities. Both characters can upgrade their skills with unique skill trees.

A really interesting piece of equipment is a time-travelling screen, which lets you see the place you're in at another point in time. You can see two different time periods simultaneously, one through your eyes and one through the lens. This looks like a great piece of kit for puzzle-solving and could make for some exceptionally creative levels.

The gameplay demonstrations are long and detailed, and are well worth a watch when the Bethesda conference is available as a replay.

Finally, Bethesda also revealed its first gameplay trailer, which you can see below

The game's release date is 11th November 2016. There will be a Collectors' edition, which will include Corvo's mask and Emily's ring.

0350: Bethesda VR

Bethesda has been working on a VR version of Doom, although it sounds more like an experience than a game.

What is WAY MORE EXCITING is a VR version of Fallout 4, which will be released in 2017 on the HTC Vive.

0342: Elder Scrolls Online

Launch trailer for the Dark Brotherhood DLC, launching next month.

Also, a new concept called One Tamriel, meaning you can explore the whole of Tamriel without any content or level limitations. You can go wherever you want, whenever you want with whomever you want. This will be a big deal for news players. No specific date, aside from that this will happen some time in the Autumn.

0341: Doom

DLC and new items announced for Doom, details in the video below

0334: Prey

We're really motoring now, announcements left, right and centre. Prey is a futuristic sci-fi thriller game with mutants, aliens and mosters. It comes 10 years after the original game in the series of the same name.

It takes place on a space station in 2032, where you play the subject of an experiment. However, it's all gone balls-up and the space station has been taken over by aliens. All you have are your wits and your "mind-bending abilities".

Watch the trailer below:

0332: Skyrim Special Edition

A new, current-generation version of Skyrim has been revealed with completely overhauled graphics and mods for Xbox One and Playstation 4.

0330: Fallout 4 additions

Lots of new extras for your Fallout 4 base, including ramps for balls and conveyor belts. There's also a new Valt-Tec workshop for building your own custom vault, coming in July.

Nuka World was also teased, which appears to be an additional area for Fallout 4. It's a pre-apocalypse theme park that appears to have been taken over as a sort of communal market and generally nice place to live. Not too many details right now, aside from the fact it will be the last piece of Fallout 4 DLC.

Finally, Fallout Shelter is getting several updates and a PC version, with new combat and a more in-depth story mode.

0325: Elder Scrolls Legends

We were shown the opening cinematic for Bethesda's Hearthstone-rivalling card strategy game. It's already available as a public beta, and the beta will be widened during E3. The game will be coming to iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

0319: Quake Champions

There had been some rumurs about this before the show, but no full leaks. Turns out it's all true. This is classic Quake brought into the 21st century, with all the weapons you know and love given a big spruce up. Watch the cinematic trailer below:

Tim Willits, creative director for id software, came on stage to reveal all.

Willits says it's designed for all skill levels, from newbies to professionals. He added that Quake Champions will run at up to 120Hz (framerate permitting) for extremely fast and twitchy gameplay.

Bethesda will be supporting multiple Quake Champions tournaments around the world, and there'll be more details at QuakeCon later this year.
