DJI looks set to unveil an all-new version of its top-of-the-range Inspire 1 drone, with invites for a November 15 launch event hinting at the new device.

While it's not clear exactly what the company has in-store, many have speculated the Inspire 1 will get an upgrade, following a slight update earlier this year.

The invite itself contains the phrase “Control/create,” which suggests the new device will follow DJI's tactic of marketing the Inspire at filmmakers and professionals.

Originally launched in 2014, the Inspire 1 is a well-built quadcopter capable of capturing 4K video and being used with a handheld mount.

And while the drone received a minor update at the start of 2016, it seems DJI could be ready to unveil an all-new version.

That means we should see big improvements, which could include obstacle avoidance – currently available on DJI's Phantom 4 and the recently launched Mavic Pro foldable drone.

The Mavic is also capable of streaming video from its on-board camera from up to a distance of four miles, while the current Inspire only manages three miles.

DJI is also expected to pack in some features specific to the Phantom 4 such as improved downward facing sensors and target-following capabilities.

Whatever the November 15 event holds, the new Inspire isn't expected to come cheap, with the current model starting at £1,769.

If you're a filmmaker without the backing of a studio, the DJI Inspire was always a fantastic option, and it looks like the next instalment will be even better.

However, with no word from the company on what it's planning for the event, there's no way to know for sure whether the Inspire will get an upgrade come mid-month. Stay tuned for the latest from TrustedReviews.
