Argos MyTablet line expanded to include three new models

New Argos MyTablet devices have been announced, with the budget tablets now coming in multiple sizes.

With the original Argos MyTablet having launched last year as a 7-inch Tesco Hudl rival, the Bush manufactured slate has now been refreshed, with two new size offerings joining a reworked version of the original.

As well as launching a new 7-inch model, Argos has confirmed that 7.85-inch and 10.1-inch MyTablets will also be available as part of the second-generation push. All three sizes will be available in either silver or pink colour schemes.

“We’re really excited about the new MyTablet range,” David Robinson, Chief Operating Officer at Argos, said.

He added: “Available in three sizes from seven to ten inches, and in silver and pink, the range presents families with a great all-round tablet.”

Kicking things off, the £79.99 7-inch Argos MyTablet sees a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution display line up alongside a 1GHz dual-core processor, a claimed 4 hour battery life. The device lines up at 9.3mm thick, 280g in weight and will go on sale this Saturday, July 26.

Although all three models feature 16GB of internal storage and 2-megapixel rear-mounted cameras, the 7-inch MyTablet is a step behind its larger siblings. Whereas the 7.85-inch and 10.1-inch tablet add microSD expansion up to 64GB and a 5-megapixel forward-facing snapper, the 7-inch tab can only support SD cards up to 32GB and features a lowly 0.3-inch front camera.

The £99.99 7.85-inch Argos MyTablet boasts a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, 1.4GHz quad-core processor and a 4.5 hour battery life within its 10.6mm thick, 370g shell.

By far the largest of the bunch, the 10.1-inch MyTablet’s 11.3mm thick, 690g body hides a longer – but still disappointing – 5 hour battery life and a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU. The 10-inch tablet will go on sale this August priced £129.99.
