Apple iMac revamp adds 4K, 5K, and Skylake
Apple has updated its entire line-up of iMac desktop computers, kitting models out with high-grade new displays.
The company’s 21.5-inch iMac now features a 4K display for the very first time.
What’s more, the every 27-inch iMac model will now ship with a super-high resolution 5K screen.
Apple has also updated the processing and graphical potential of its iMacs, which now also feature two Thunderbolt 2 ports and new storage options.
There are also a number of new wireless accessories, including the new Magic Trackpad 2, which offers up Apple’s pressure sensitive Force Touch technology, as featured on this year’s 12-inch MacBook.

Performance
Apple’s new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display has been upgraded with Intel’s sixth-generation Core processors, as well as high-performance AMD graphics.
The 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display, meanwhile, now features a fifth-generation Intel Core processor, as well as enhanced Intel Iris Pro Graphics.
Apple is also offering a number of new Fusion Drive storage options, include a new lower-priced configuration that sees a 1TB hard-disk drive paired with 24GB of SSD storage.
The Fusion Drive is also available in 2TB and 3TB variants, with a further 128GB of flash storage to boot.

Accessories
Apple’s new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 have all been revamped, compared to their predecessors.
The new Magic Keyboard has a sleeker design that Apple says is 13% smaller than the previous model.
The Magic Mouse 2 is “lighter” and “sturdier”, and has an optimised foot design for a smoother glide.
Meanwhile, the Magic TrackPad 2 has a 29% larger surface area, and features Force Touch.
All of the new iMacs will ship with OS X El Capitan as standard, and are available to buy today.
iMac prices
The 27-inch iMac is offered in three models, starting at £1,449, £1,599, and £1,849.
The 21.5-inch iMac is also available in three models, starting at £899, £10,49, and £1,119 – the latter is with the Retina 4K display.
The Magic Keyboard costs £79, the Magic Mouse 2 prices in at £65, and the Magic Trackpad 2 retails at £109.
