Here's the usual detail test shot of the West Window of Exeter Cathedral, for you to compare with other cameras. See below for a full res crop, or click to see the whole picture.
The level of detail could be better. The lens is a bit soft and blurs out the finer points.
The lens also produces a lot of distortion at wide angle.
Centre sharpness is not as good as some competitor models.
The corners of the frame are very blurred.

Say... Buying this camera, the CoolPix S550 now in november 2009 in 100$ with delivery and 2 years warnety is a good buy?

could you tell me the differences between the s550 and the s560 apart from the bigger screen and the price because I want to buy one but I don't know which help!
