What is the Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+?
As your children get a bit older, they’ll need a more powerful electric toothbrush to keep their teeth clean. The rotating Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ is ideal. This model is similar to an adult model, eschewing a fancy body for something plainer.
Quality cleaning results, a great price and a built-in battery meter could make this a winner for slightly older children.

Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ – Design and features
The Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ looks quite similar to an adult electric toothbrush. There are no cartoon animals or film tie-ins, with the toothbrush coming in either purple or green.
For the youngest age bracket, this toothbrush might not be that exciting. For slightly older kids, however, having something a bit more grown-up could well be a winner.
This model has a rechargeable battery, with the wireless charger connecting to a standard 2-pin socket. Each charge can last up to 10 days, assuming that it’s used for two-minute cleans twice a day.
Note, however, that how vigorously your children clean and the pressure they use can affect how long the battery lasts. A battery-indicator warns when the Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush is almost out of juice.
Oral-B ships this toothbrush with a sensitive brush head, which has soft bristles designed to be gentle on teeth and gums. An outer-core of bristles gets into gaps between teeth, while a denser-core of bristles covers the tooth’s surface.
Only a single toothbrush head is provided in the box, which feels a little mean; replacements cost around £19 for a pack of six. As the bristles fade down to the half-way point, you know that it’s time to replace a brush head.
The toothbrush has a two-minute timer, with 30-second pulses letting you know when it’s time to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth.
Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ – Brush performance
As a larger model than many other children’s toothbrushes, some kids in the lower age bracket may not find this model so easy to manoeuvre. For slightly older children, the handle size will be no problem.
Since this is a rotating electric toothbrush, it has a small brush head that will deal well with children’s teeth. The idea is to slowly move the brush over the top of the teeth to clean them. This model has a ‘3D’ action, which means that the brush head rotates and pulsates, with 8800 rotations and 20,000 pulsations per minute.
The downside is increased noise over sonic models, and I measured this model at 78.4dB. However, given the slightly older children at whom this model is aimed, this noise is unlikely to put them off.
In action, the Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ feels powerful. With the test teeth lined up with beetroot and spinach, the toothbrush made short work of both, fishing out debris from between the teeth and polishing away any stains.
Why buy the Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+?
For kids moving up from their first electric toothbrushes who want something a bit more grownup, the Oral-B Junior Electric Toothbrush For Children Aged 6+ is a great choice and a powerful cleaner. It’s larger size may not suit all younger children, however.
Verdict
A more grown-up toothbrush with powerful cleaning.
