Virgin Media adds full range of Sky Sports HD channels

Virgin Media has extended its content partnership with Sky, adding the complete Sky Sports HD channel line up to its cable TV service.
Having previously offered its subscribers Sky Sports 1 HD and Sky Sports 2 HD, Virgin has today put pen to paper on a five year deal that will see the full Sky Sports HD package – including the Sky F1 HD channel – made available.
With Sky Sports 3 HD and Sky Sports 4 HD set to be added to the Virgin Media package for the first time, Virgin users will also be able to enjoy Sky Sports News HD and Sky News HD as part of the new deal.
What’s more, as well as adding new channels, Virgin Media has confirmed the extended partnership will allow users to access content on a variety of mobile devices for the first time.
Extending the reach of Sky’s channels on the Virgin TV Anywhere app, the Sky Sports and Sky Movies channels will be accessible through users’ tablets and smartphones for the first time. The services were already available through TV and laptops.

“This agreement builds on our long-standing relationship with Virgin Media, enabling us to deliver our great channels to even more homes across the UK and opening up additional sources of revenue.”
