Torch is the world’s first heater for any coat
Brr. Bit nippy out isn’t it. What you want is Torch, the world’s first heater for any coat.
Thanks to its velcro stickers, it fits on the inside of any coat. You plug in the three heat pads to charge them up, then attach them to the velcro stickers. And there you go, it’ll heat you while you walk around.
It’s powered by a lithium-ion 2,600mAh battery, which is a similar capacity to those used in most smartphones. The controls are built into it, to let you select the heat settings. There’s no word on where it will go, however. It needs to stay plugged in to power the pads, so would it dangle? Go in a pocket? Neither is ideal.

It’s a good idea, and we like the fact that it works with any coat. However, once the velcro stickers are stuck on your coat lining, there’s no getting them off. This means you’ll have to buy more stickers to use with more coats, and that there’s no removing them. Which limits your options with a reversible coat.
It’s raised just under $3,000 of a $20,000 goal and has 38 days to go. Pledge $55 (£39) and it can be yours on an early bird. It should ship in August, by which time this cold spell will be a distant memory.
