Star Wars: Episode VII trailer gets first look on iTunes
Disney has taken to iTunes to show off the first proper look at Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens – sorry YouTube.
The fast-approaching J.J. Abrams spectacular is now live and available to watch on Apple’s iTunes Movie Trailers page exclusively.
It’s very likely Apple went to great pains to snag the deal, and the iTunes traffic is assuredly going through the roof right about now.
Following the early iTunes debut, the trailer will also be shown in 30 cinemas across the USA.
The Star Wars movie franchise kicked off back in 1977, with the prequel series landing in 1999.
The Force Awakens will be the seventh movie in the series, and is scheduled for release on December 18 2015.
It’s been written by George Lucas, but sees J.J. Abrams planted firmly in the director’s chair. Abrams’ previous works include the two latest Star Trek films, Mission Impossible 3, Super 8, and Cloverfield.
The movie will star John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Andy Serkis, with reprisals coming courtesy of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, amongst others.
If you’re keen to see what’s in store for the Star Wars universe after Return of the Jedi, you can take a look at the new trailer right here.
