Sky ‘open’ to bringing Netflix and Amazon apps to Sky Q
The new Sky Q platform is chock with third-party services, but what about Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video?
Sky made no mention of the rival video services at the Sky Q launch event, but the company isn’t ruling out a partnership.
We asked Sky executive Kathryn Lacey whether a Netflix or Amazon video app would be available on Sky Q, she said she was ‘open’ to working with third-party content providers.

She continued: “So we are open to working with any partners we think are able to help us achieve that vision in the future.”
However, Lacey said that she “can’t comment on any individuals at the moment”.

Sky announced its new set-top box and TV service Sky Q at a launch event today in London.
The broadcaster revealed a host of content providers, including YouTube, Facebook, GoPro, Vogue, GQ, Wired, and Vanity Fair.
It’s still not clear whether Sky has any definitive plans to work with Netflix or Amazon.
