Samsung Galaxy S4 UK Release Date confirmed for April 26
The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is official; with the South Korean manufacturer revealing the eagerly awaited will hit retailers next month.
Confirming that a Samsung Galaxy S4 UK release date will see the iPhone 5 rival made available from April 26, Samsung has revealed that the 5-inch Full HD handset with octa-core innards will launch in the UK and US first with a global rollout to follow later in Q2.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Features
Officially unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will ship in the UK as the world’s first eight-core smartphone, boasting 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 5 with 2GB of RAM.
The 5-inch reduced bezel screen provides a Super AMOLED Full 1,920 x 1080p HD resolution with a 441ppi image density, but still retains the same height as the Samsung Galaxy S3. Measuring in at just 7.9mm thick, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is actually thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S3 that was 8.3mm.
The characteristic Pebble Blue is gone, instead replaced by White Frost and Black Mist colour options.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will provide a 13-megapixel camera in the rear with a 2-megapixel snapper up front. The flagship will also provide a whole host of new camera features. These include Eraser Shot, which offers the option to remove unwanted content from still images, Dual Camera shooting allows the user to shoot with both cameras simultaneously and record sound with still shots, and Drama Shot.
The highly rumoured Samsung Galaxy Smart Pause and Smart Scroll are both present in the Samsung Galaxy S4. As predicted, the Smart Pause halts the content when the user looks away from the screen for more than a second, automatically resuming when the user returns their gaze, whilst Smart Scroll adjusts the screen location, moving up and down with the user’s gaze, as long as they are paying attention to the screen.
The new Air View function allows the user to hover a finger over emails, messages or other such content to see a preview of that item, without actually having to touch the screen. Air Gesture provides a similar service, allowing a hovered fingered swipe to move through content without contact with the display.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 offers a 2,600mAh battery, with a microSD card expansion slot to expand the internal storage options, as well as providing 4G LTE, IR LED, Wi-Fi and BlueTooth connectivity.
The new S Translator feature is also great, allowing users to instantly translate a huge variety of languages via audio or using the camera for printed content.
