Rocket League is getting a physical release

Developer Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will receive a physical release in the near future.
The sudden announcement came from Psyonix Studios vice president Jeremy Dunham on yesterday’s episode of Kinda Funny Games’ Colin and Greg Live.
“We’re going to be announcing very soon that Rocket League’s coming to retail,” announced Dunham. “We’re going to be talking about who our partner is, when [you] can expect to see it, and what comes in that package.”
The official Rocket League Facebook page has said Psyonix “will make sure the retail version is special,” which may involve some exclusive content or a limited edition release.

The Mac release of Rocket League is currently in development, but Psyonix is yet to provide a release date.
Dunham also confirmed on the livestream that Psyonix hope to release more new content for Rocket League in 2016.
“Awards season is almost over. We’re going to be at SXSW for that and then a couple other ones,” Dunham said. “Once that’s done we’re going to really start focusing on the game.”
Rocket League is now available as a digital download for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Psyonix hasn’t confirmed a release window for the physical version of Rocket League, or if it will come in 2016.
