Pokemon GO Christmas Event – AR+ Mode Revealed
As part of its festive event, Niantic has announced a new feature coming to Pokemon GO in the form of AR+ Mode. Coming to select iOS devices such as IPhone 6S models and above, fifth generation iPad models and iPad Pros, it will take advantage of Apple’s advanced AR technology.
AR+ Mode will add increased depth and perception to Pokemon GO when catching creatures. For example, Pokemon will now appear closer to their canonical size and be more comparable to humans when found out in the wild.
Moving around Pokemon and potentially catching them by surprise is more likely now, too, thanks to them occupied a space in a more realistic manner.

The festive promotion will see the application updated with a Christmas-themed aesthetic alongside a number of neat in-game bonuses. These will likely include a Santa Hat Pickachu alongside potentially increased catch and hatch rates for creatures and incubators.

We’re expecting the event itself to begin on Christmas Day, so make sure your smartphone is charged ahead of December 25th!

We have no idea! However, crafty data miners have already uncovered a few things that hint towards what the event might have waiting for us.
Some of the more interesting finds include Pokemon such as Delibird and Smeargle, whose moves have been discovered in the game’s code ahead of the Christmas event.
It’d be great to see new Pokemon introduced alongside limited-edition cosmetic items come Christmas Day, especially for completionist players looking to catch them all.
