Having finally answered calls for an official Wii U price cut this week, Nintendo will wait until October 4 before setting the wheels in motion.
When it arrives, reports MCV, the price cut will only know £30 off the struggling console, which is still less than a year old.
With the likes of ASDA knocking a full £100 off the device before pulling it from sale earlier this summer, it’s questionable whether Nintendo’s token gesture will have much impact on sales.
However, the saving grace might be the new game bundles being offered with the consoles.
The company will ditch the Nintendo Land software and instead give users a choice of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Walker HD or Lego Underground.
The company told MVC: “We’ve reduced the European trade price of the Wii U Premium Pack to retailers from October 4th. At the same time we’ll be launching the Zelda bundle (32 GB) and the Lego Premium Pack (32 GB) which will also be available to the retailers at the same lower trade price as the traditional Wii U Premium packs which are currently available in the market place.”
Gamers can pre-order the black Premium bundle from Game.co.uk for the new, lower price of £250, with delivery expected on or around October 4.
