The Nintendo NX is set to arrive in 2017, and the latest rumours point to the company next discussing it at one of its special Nintendo Direct events. In the meantime? The company doesn’t want to talk about it.
At least, that’s the latest according to games blog Game Skinny.
At the Yo-Kai Watch 2 launch in Canada, the site sat down for some cozy time with Nintendo of Canada communications manager Andrew Collins, who apparently said at the start of the event that questions about the NX would result in the interview being cut short.
GS originally reported on the warning, then later changed its article at Nintendo’s behest (as was first spotted here) – so the company isn’t just being testy about NX talk, it’s going full on bully boy by the sound of it.

Collins did, however, hint that a future Nintendo Direct event could hold the key to the elsuive NX console, cryptically saying that, “Nintendo Directs are actually presented to the communications teams much closer to their release.”
It’s a hint. The smallest of hints. Barely event a hint, if we’re honest, but it’s the only fix around at the moment – other than that potential £350 price tag, of course.
The fact that both Sony and Microsoft have beaten Nintendo to the shelves in the next-gen console wars is one possible explanation as to why the firm is being so arsey about hardware-related chatter.
Similarly, the rash of NX leaks and rumours circulating could be well off the mark, and the company obviously wouldn’t want to stymie the sense of excitement building around the new system.
By way of background, Sony recently launched the PS4 Pro and an updated PS4 (née the PS4 Slim), while Microsoft debuted the Xbox One S.
