Next OnePlus smartphone will be mid-range “fashion product”

There’s plenty of mystery surrounding the next OnePlus smartphone, but we know one thing for sure – it won’t be flagship.
A OnePlus company executive has confirmed that the device will be decidedly mid-range, unlike the high-end OnePlus 2.
“The new phone will be more of a lifestyle and fashion product than a flagship device, Agarwal said, and it will be more towards the mass market,” reads a report by the India Economic Times, based on comments by Vikas Agarwal, GM of OnePlus India.
We already knew that the next OnePlus smartphone wouldn’t be the OnePlus 3, so it was likely we’d see a mid-range offering.
But when is the device actually coming out? Well Agarwal gave us some pretty big clues regarding a release window.
“
He adds: “It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus.”
Emerging markets are a big winner for budget-friendly OnePlus, so it’s no surprise the company wants to target India.
According to Agarwal, OnePlus sales in India are currently growing faster than any other market.
He claims India will eventually become the largest market from the company, overtaking the US and Europe.
