Netflix to develop Legend of Zelda live-action TV series?
Netflix could be developing a Legend of Zelda live-action TV series, according to a new report.
Legend of Zelda, one of the most popular gaming series, could be being made into a live-action TV series.
That’s according to a new report from a new report from the Wall Street Journal anyway.
The rumours come courtesy of “a person familiar with the matter” who states that Netflix is in the early stages of developing a live action series based on the Zelda series.
Following the games’ storylines, the TV seris will be about Link who must rescue the princess Zelda and a fantasy world called Hyrule.
Netflix is apparently currently seeking writers for the show, which is being internally dubbed as Game of Thrones for a family audience.
The source suggests that Netflix and Nintendo are working closely together for the TV series.

However, since Netflix is still looking for writers, we’re not going to see a Zelda live-action TV series for quite some time.
Long enough that both Netflix and Nintendo may well kill off the series before it even airs.
Nintendo has a history of being very protective of its IP, to the point where the company has allowed very few adaptations on its games.
There was an animated Legend of Zelda TV series produced back in 1989 but it only ran for one series. You might even remember the horrendous Super Mario Bros movie from 1993, which was an infamous failure.
Of course, spokespersons for both Netflix and Nintendo have declined to comment, with a spokesman from the latter saying Nintendo “doesn’t comment on rumours and speculation.”
