Minecraft is here to finally give Apple TV gaming a boost

Since it relaunched the Apple TV in late 2015, the hopes it would become the next great gaming platform haven’t really come to fruition.
While plenty of the App Store’s most popular games have been ported over to Apple TV, gaming big hitters have generally stayed clear.
However, that changes today with the launch of Minecraft for Apple TV.
The $19.99 Apple TV Edition bundle features seven pieces of DLC for a limited time, enabling users to customize their experience.
In a post on the Minecraft official site, the developers say: “Minecraft: Apple TV Edition currently includes the Holiday 2015, Town Folk, and City Folk skin packs, along with the Plastic, Natural, Cartoon, and Festive 2016 mash-ups.”
Unfortunately, there’s no support for Minecraft Realms multiplayer or Xbox Live right now. Both will be coming in a future update.
The Minecraft for Apple TV Edition was announced at the MacBook Pro launch event in October and arrives just in time for Christmas.
