Microsoft has, somewhat surprisingly, released a new feature phone, under the Nokia branding.
The $37 (around £30) Nokia 216 handset harks back to the firm’s glory days, taking design cues from the N95 of yore with an old-school physical keyboard and a 2.4-inch QVGA display.
As well as the 0.3-megapixel cameras (with flashes) and the Series 30 operating system, the Nokia 216 will also offer up to 24-days of standby battery life.
If you’re crossing things off on your pre-smartphone checklist, there’s also a torch light, FM radio and an MP3 player built-in. It’s also IPv6 certified for limited water resistance.

Despite agreeing to sell its claim to the name to a Foxconn subsidiary for $350m earlier this year, Microsoft continues to pump out the Nokia handsets.
It’s hardly surprising considering they sell like hotcakes in the developing world. The Nokia 216 will go on sale in India next month
Redmond is currently winding down the Lumia brand after experiencing little success with Windows 10 on smartphones. The company is currently thought to be plotting a Surface Phone.
