Metroid Prime: Federation Force rolling onto 3DS this September

The co-operative first person shooter will launch for Nintendo 3DS on September 2, Nintendo has confirmed.
The company made the announcement earlier today on Twitter, nailing down the European release date.

Acting as a side story set during the Metroid Prime series, Federation Force focuses on a team of faceless marines, instead of iconic heroine Samus.
Fans weren’t too happy with the game upon its initial reveal at E3 2015, with some even setting up a petition for the game’s cancellation.

The project is being overseen by Metroid Prime boss Kensuke Tanabe, so fans can at least look forward to an experience that feels familiar, even if it may lack the elements people love about the franchise.
Many fans are still awaiting the inevitable release of Metroid Prime 4, which will likely make an appearance on Nintendo’s NX console.
