LoveFilm announces Viacom partnership
LoveFilm has announced a new partnership with Viacom International Media Networks, bringing the likes of MTV and Comedy Central to the streaming service.
Adding a host of new programmes to the LoveFilm streaming service, the new Viacom deal will allow UK viewers to watch content from Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and other popular channels.
Fans of reality TV shows like The Hills, Jersey Shore or Geordie Shore will now be able to watch it via the Amazon-owned streaming service.
Punk’d, Ashton Kutcher’s pranking show, is now available on the service as well.
“We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of hundreds of great shows from prestigious broadcasters such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon,” said Chris Bird, Director of Content Strategy at LoveFilm.
Families will be pleased to hear that the Viacom deal will also offer a host of content from Nickelodeon and Nick. Jr among other channels.
That means kids will be able to watch Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, and Blues Clues on LoveFilm from now on.
“This is a great way for our audience to access some of VIMN’s most well-known content, across any device,” said David Lynn, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of VIMN UK. “This partnership will create a fantastic gateway through which fans can view their favourite VIMN shows.”
LoveFilm is facing increasing competition from Netflix of late, as its original content like Arrested Development Season 4, Orange is the New Black and House of Cards are all proving exceedingly popular.
The Amazon-owned streaming service is available on platforms like PC, Mac, Wii U, PS3, Xbox One, Kindle Fire HD, and iOS and Android devices to boot.
