Liverpool vs Man City Live Stream: Watch the Champions League online

Liverpool vs Man City Live Stream: Watch the Champions League online this Wednesday

We have an all-English tie to look forward to in the Champions League tonight, as Pep Guardiola and his formidable Manchester City side make the short trip to Liverpool to face Jurgen Klopp’s entertainers. Our guide reveals all you need to know to watch the Liverpool vs Man City first leg online, including full live stream details and the kick-off time.

Hearts dropped across the UK when Liverpool and Manchester City were drawn against each other in the Champions League quarter-final, with both teams widely considered to be strong enough to take apart every other side in the competition. Unfortunately, only one can go through to the semis.

The two most exciting sides in England, led by player of the year contenders Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, face off at Anfield, the site of many a great European night. With the sheer amount of outstanding attacking talent that’s set to take to the field, everyone’s expecting a cracking game.

Man City battered Liverpool in the league last September, coming out 5-0 winners after Reds forward Sadio Mané was sent off early for a robust challenge on Blues keeper Ederson. However, Liverpool hit back in thrilling fashion in January, triumphing 4-3.

Sergio Aguero will miss tonight’s match through injury, while Liverpool’s notoriously leaky defence will be without Joel Matip and Joe Gomez, who are also out injured.

However, while City have the outrageously gifted Gabriel Jesus to fall back on as a ready-made replacement, Liverpool fans will be concerned about the prospect of Dejan Lovren stepping in to face the likes of Leroy Sané, Raheem Sterling and David Silva, as well as the aforementioned Jesus and De Bruyne.

For Liverpool, it might be more of a case of hoping Roberto Firmino, Salah and Mane are able to outscore their opposite numbers, rather than counting on their backline to keep City’s attackers quiet.

Watching the big game couldn’t be easier – as long as you’ve got the right TV package.

BT Sport have exclusive rights to this encounter, meaning the match will be shown on BT Sport 2, with coverage starting at 7pm BST and the game kicking off at 7.45pm. If you do subscribe to BT Sport, you’ll also be able to live stream the clash, either via the BT Sport website or the BT Sport app.

Here are the quick-links you need to get started.

Failing that, we fear you’re out of luck. UEFA won a recent injunction against illegal online football streams, meaning that UK ISPs will be required to crack down on pirate Champions League and Europa League feeds. We wouldn’t recommend going down this route anyway, as not only does it fall foul of the law, but it can open you up to all kinds of malware and other digital nasties.

If you haven’t yet signed up for BT Sport, it’s surprisingly affordable – and you can find out how to do so here. Note that it can take a few hours for channels and streaming access to activate after signing up, so act fast to avoid disappointment.
