LG G3 specs, metal body and UI revealed by LG Netherlands

The LG G3 specs, metal body and UI have been leaked by the official product page from LG Netherlands.

A host of new features including the phone’s “lightweight” metal housing has been revealed by the brief appearance of the LG Netherlands G3 product page, which has now been taken down.

Pretty much everything you could ever need to know about the phone, which will be officially launched at an event later today May 27, was listed on the product page.

In terms of specs, they match up to those offered both in previous leaks and official confirmations from LG itself.

The LG G3 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD 2560 x 1440p display running on a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. It was earlier suggested that the phone would feature 3GB of RAM, but LG Netherlands suggest it is actually 2GB of RAM.

Internal storage is listed as 16GB, rather than the originally tipped 32GB, but that is expandable up to 128GB by microSD card.

As for the camera, the rear offering stands at 13-megapixels, which comes with a 4K video recording, dual LED flash and a new special Laser Auto Focus sensor.

Apparently this infrared laser helps the LG G3 offer quick and accurate auto-focusing, and aids low-light photography.

You’ll also get a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, all packed within the thin 9.1mm thick body.

This body is stated to be a “lightweight metal housing”, which we hope will be true brushed aluminium rather than a metal effect. It will come in three metallic themed colours though: Metallic Black, Shine Gold and Silk White.

UI changes include updated camera app software, which introduces a new “Touch & Shoot” mode that removes all unnecessary controls and clutter from the interface to let you take photos quickly and easily.

Other new software features include something that sounds rather like Google Now. The LG Netherlands page states that the LG G3 will offer you “tips based on the status of your phone, your behaviour, and the locations where you are”.

There’s also a new “Quick Circle” feature that presents your six most frequently used apps in a convenient circle.

The custom LG keyboard has also been given a revamp for the LG G3 too.
