LG G2 mini specs and release date leaked

The LG G2 mini specs and release date have been leaked ahead of a formal MWC 2014 unveiling.

Following the launch of the critically acclaimed Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, many are expecting the LG G2 mini to offer a similar package.

However, according to The Verge, which states LG has pre-announced its LG G2 mini in time for its official launch at MWC 2014, the LG G2’s smaller sibling won’t be quite as impressive as the Z1 Compact.

The leaked specs suggest the LG G2 mini will swap out the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU of the LG G2 in favour of either a Snapdragon 400 or Nvidia Tegra 4i.

It will apparently come with a 4.7-inch qHD 540 x 960p resolution display, which is quite the downgrade from the rather lovely 5.2-inch full 1080p HD IPS display of the LG G2.

The leaks also reveal that the rear camera will be reduced to 8-megapixels and there will be a non-4G LTE variant available to reduce the asking price.

LG has seemingly made sure you get the latest OS with the LG G2 mini though, as the smartphone will launch with Android 4.4 KitKat and all the latest of LG’s software features.

The LG G2 mini will also have a removable 2,440mAh battery and offer just 8GB of internal storage but bolstered by microSD card.

Availability for the LG G2 mini will apparently begin in March, but initially in Russia. This will be shortly followed by Europe and the rest of the world.

Of course, all the LG G2 mini specs are still unofficial for now, as all we’ve got so far is a Facebook picture teasing the device earlier this month.

LG has released an MWC 2014 teaser trailer on YouTube, focusing on the LG G Flex and the LG G Pro 2, but the LG G2 mini doesn’t get any air time as far as we can tell.
