IKEA is making a turntable and – wait, what?

IKEA has detailed the first products from its new Frekvens range with esteemed Swedish audio firm Teenage Engineering – and it includes everything from party lighting to a vinyl turntable.
The Frekvens – Swedish for frequency – range will feature a total of 22 items when it hits the shelves in select IKEA brick-and-mortar stores from February 2019, with an electronic choir and vinyl turntable headlining the collection.

“Together with Teenage Engineering we want to explore the possibilities of bringing the party with you and what else you need for a great party,” said Michael Nikolic, Creative Leader at IKEA Range & Supply, in a post on the firm’s newsroom.
We’re yet to see what exactly the Frekvens range will look like, though IKEA did take to Instagram a short while ago to share some imagery of the various prototypes it’s experimenting with for different products. You can check them out below.
