Google could add ‘buy now’ button to search results within weeks

Google is coming for your cash, with ‘buy now’ buttons to accompany future search results, a new report has suggested.
Backing up past claims that Google is looking to add instant shopping options to your search results, The Wall Street Journal has claimed the service could be rolled out in beta form within a matter of weeks.
With Google I/O pencilled in to be held across May 28 and 29, we could see changes to the dominant search engine sooner rather than later.
Far from a blanket cover service that will accompany each and every result when you search things like ‘Beats headphones’ or ‘new iPhone’,
It has been suggested that the service – which will be exclusively available to mobile-based searches at launch – will appear online alongside paid search ads.
Although goods will still be shipped from third-party retailers such as Amazon and eBay, customers clicking the ‘buy now’ buttons will be pushed through a series of Google-branded order pages.

Google has yet to formally announce any plans for an increased shopping push, as such, these claims should be taken with a small pinch of salt.
That said, the comprehensive report has gone as far as to list prospective retailers tied in to trail the service, including US department store, Macys.
