Samsung Galaxy S20 range to ship with fastest chargers – report

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series will ship with the fastest compatible chargers, according to a new tidbit from a well-informed reporter.
Roland Quandt of WinFuture reckons the S20 and S20 Plus smartphones will include a 25W fast charger in the box, while the S20 Ultra 5G will offer a 45W fast charger.
That’s a slight change in tack from Samsung, which shipped the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus handsets with 25W chargers, even through the higher-end model supported the 45W fast charging.
If you wanted to charge your phone at the top speed, you needed to fork out $50 for an additional charger, in the markets that it was actually available that is.

It seems Samsung may have heard feedback on this front so is now ensuring those forking over the big bucks for its flagship phones won’t have to dip into their wallets again to charge that Ultra as quickly as possible.
The strategy would take a leaf out of Apple’s book, after the iPhone maker included the faster USB-C to Lightning Cable charging solution with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, along with an 18W USB-C power adapter.
Quandt also said each of the handsets will ship with the AKG USB-C wired headphones in the box to compensate for the absence of a 3.5mm jack. We don’t expect them to be very good considering Samsung is likely to offer Galaxy Buds+ to preorder customers in markets and will hope others actually splash out on the AirPods rivals.
