Forza 6 Apex Edition won’t support cross-play between PC and Xbox One

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has confirmed that Forza 6 Apex Edition will not support cross-platform play for Xbox One and PC users.
The free-to-play version of Forza Motorsport 6 will be a “curated experience designed for Windows 10”, Greenberg told a fan on Twitter.
“We want to enable where we can; it takes time to build the ecosystem,” he said. “Getting [Apex] on Windows 10 is the first step.”
The lack of cross-play isn’t surprising, especially when you consider how different Apex is to the core experience on Xbox One.

Apex is a free-to-play version of Forza Motorsport 6, with significantly fewer cars and tracks than the console release.
This will mark the franchise’s first time on PC. In addition, it’s being developed by Turn 10 Studios, the developer responsible for the original game.
Last week, Microsoft confirmed that a new Forza title will be announced at E3 2016 in partnership with Lamborghini.
