Ford’s latest F-150 truck will chase you with flashing lights and sirens
Ford has announced a new version of its best-selling F-150 pick-up truck, but you won’t be able to pick one up at your local dealership.
The company’s first Police Pursuit version of the vehicle has been designed specifically for the boys in blue.
It offers the same Ecoboost V-6 engine featured in the Taurus sedan and Explorer SUV cop cars and has been rated for speeds of 100-miles-per-hour.
The four-wheel drive, 375 horsepower truck will be used by US Border Control agents, local sheriff’s departments, as well as wildlife agencies.

Other upgrades include 7,000lb towing capacity and different seats to help accommodate all of the gear officers wear on the job. The centre console, naturally, has room for a shotgun rack.
“Ford’s 2018 F-150 Police Responder is the perfect all-terrain law enforcement vehicle,” said Stephen Tyler, who is Ford’s police brand marketing manager and not the Aerosmith frontman.
Speaking from experience it’s annoying enough having F-150 drivers riding your tail at the best of times, without flashing lights and sirens.
I’ve also lost count of the times pick-up drivers have almost knocked me off my bike. They get way too close, have no patience and once they zoom past you, most of them have Trump bumper stickers.
In all honesty, we’d probably rather have the cops tailing us than those folks.
