Fallout Shelter mobile game announced and is available to download now

Fallout Shelter is Bethesda’s first ever mobile game where you can build your own nuclear shelter and look after its residents

Along with giving us more details on Fallout 4, Bethesda also unveiled at E3 that’s its been working on its first ever mobile game, which you can play right now.

Sadly it’s not a ported version of any of the original games, but it does take some clear gameplay inspiration from strategy games like XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Sim City.

You’re tasked with maintaining the shelter and keeping everyone happy and healthy. Each dweller has their own full stats, which can be levelled up. Sharing resources like food when it’s needed most is vital as well.

You’ll have control of everything from building classrooms to gain intelligence and bars for added charisma. You can even have amorous relations with your fellow cohabitors. There’ll also be accidents to deal with like fires and be prepared to fend off raiders and creature attacks.

Lunch box rewards will give you random loot with the option to purchase more if you want to spend some actual money. The good news is that there’s no paywall or timer, so things are built instantly. Plus you don’t need to be connected to the internet to play it.

Fallout Shelter is available to download for the iPhone and iPad from the Apple App Store now and it’s free. Bethesda didn’t announce an Android version, but has since confirmed that there’s plans to bring Shelter to Play Store at a later date.
