Doom will run at 1080p/60fps on all platforms

Developer id Software has confirmed that Doom will run at 1080p/60fps on PS4 and Xbox One.
Potential space marines can look forward to dismembering demons at a silky smooth 60fps when Doom launches on May 13.
“We want players to wonder how DOOM and idTech 6 games can be so visually stunning at 60 frames-per-second at 1080p on all platforms, when other titles cannot even achieve a similar look at 30 frames-per-second,” said lead project programmer Billy Khan on Bethesda Blog.
Khan added that id Software hope to make “the best-looking game at 1080p at 60fps.” with Doom.

The PC version wasn’t mentioned, but will likely be able to surpass 1080p in favour of higher options. However, many id Software titles are traditionally locked at 60fps, so PC players may need to do some tinkering.
Doom’s idTech 6 game engine will support physically based rendering and dynamic-lighting which will “allows artists to make characters and environments more realistic and stunning than ever before.”
The last main entry in the franchise was 2004’s Doom 3, an experience that opted for slow-paced survival horror over the original’s insane shooter action.
It seems the new game will return to the fast, frantic combat Doom is renown for; complete with new iterations of classic monsters.
Doom is set to release on May 13 for PS4, Xbox One and PC
