Ten flights were grounded by hackers in Poland on Sunday in a crippling cyberattack against the country’s LOT airline.
The security breach left around 1,400 passengers stranded at the airport, unable to depart for their destinations.
Although ten flights were cancelled, a Reuters report (via HuffPo) reveals about a dozen more were delayed as a result of the hack.
The airline was forced to provide hotels for the passengers of the worst affected flights.
The breach specifically affected the airline’s ground computer systems, which are used to issue flight plans.
LOT has since revealed that the attack is now “under control,” with flight plans subsequently prepared at the company’s operating centre remotely.

Unfortunately, LOT says there is still a risk of attack for other airlines.
