Apple Pay adds support for Monzo – here’s how to use it

Apple Pay has at long last added support for cards issued by digital bank Monzo. Here’s everything you need to know about the new-found integration, including instructions on how to add your Monzo card to Apple Pay.
You can now use your Monzo card as a funding source for Apple Pay transactions. That’s because the digital bank is now listed as a supported financial institution on Apple’s website, marking the start of a partnership between the two firms.
Here’s the good news: Adding your Monzo card to your iPhone’s Wallet couldn’t be easier. Just navigate into the Monzo application, tap Account, select Settings, hit Add to Apple Wallet, then follow the on-screen instructions. That’s all there is to it.
The process is a little more complicated on an Apple Watch, however:
- Head into the Apple Watch application on your iPhone.
- Select Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Hit Add Credit or Debit Card.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions to import your card details from Wallet.
And to use Monzo with Apple Pay on a MacBook Pro, open up System Preferences, click Wallet & Apple Pay, hit the + symbol to indicate you want to add a new payment method, then input the credentials on your Monzo card.
This move comes a little more than six months after rival Google Pay added support for Monzo.
