Airbnb helps frustrated neighbours with new complaints feature

We’ve all heard the horror stories about trashed rentals, but Airbnb is finally doing something about it.
Airbnb plans to launch a new feature that will let neighbours complain about unruly guests.
That’s according to a report by the Verge, which says the company confirmed the new complaints system would roll out “in the coming weeks”.
“We are proud to have built a respectful and compassionate community,” said an Airbnb spokesperson, speaking to the publication.
“Most Airbnb hosts are sharing the home they live in and we give them tools they need to only welcome respectful travellers.”
Airbnb has over 1.5 million lsitings in 34,000 cities and 190 countries
“If issues do arise, we work with our community to try and resolve them,” the spokesperson continued. “In the next month we are planning to start offering a new feature on our website that will enable neighbours to register a complaint directly to our customer service team for follow-up.”

“We will have more details when we formally launch the product in the coming weeks,” the spokesperson added.
Unfortunately, it’s still not clear whether the complaints will be made public, nor whether complaints will affect guests in terms of feedback or ability to rent in the future.
