Nokia has officially unveiled a 64GB version of the Nokia Lumia 1020, with the large capacity handset to be exclusive to O2 in the UK.
With the camera-centric Nokia Lumia 1020 officially launching in the UK today, September 12,
“Until the end of 2013 only our customers will enjoy the great 64GB Nokia Lumia 1020,” Marieta del Rivero, CMO of O2 parent company Telefonica said at the UK launch of the phone.
With the 64GB Nokia Lumia 1020 being made available for pre-order tomorrow, the large capacity handset will be made available in-store from September 25.
Powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system, the Nokia Lumia 1020 specs sheet focusses around its 41-megapixel Pure View camera which boasts a Carl Zeiss lens, optical image stabilisation and a Xenon flash.
With the handset’s 4.5-inch AMOLED display sporting a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution, the Nokia Lumia 1020 features list is further enhanced by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a second, 1.2-megapixel forward-facing camera.
“We are delighted with the response we have received from the UK marketplace” said Conor Pierce, VP, Nokia UK and Ireland. “It is clear that there is a strong appetite for a smartphone with such unrivaled image taking capabilities. The ability to express your imaging creativity and then share instantly really does put this phone in a class of its own.”
