There are two potential issues to watch for.
(1)Turning the unit completely off, and later turning it back on. This can use up a lot of ink; Xerox has made a lot of strides in keeping this to a minimum. But in some small office were they want to save on energy cost, they will power products down over the weekend. Once this type of unit is turned on it must on 24 / 7 / 365 or you can go through a lot of ink just from power cycling.
(2)Moving the unit may not seem like a big thing because in most cases once it is installed it stays in place. But some maintenance personnel not familiar with this unit may just unplug the unit and move it right a way like they would a laser or inkjet product. This could damage the unit as the liquefied ink could spill inside the unit. This unit must not be moved right away to allow the ink to cool down and congeal.

Ink changes colour overtime. Sometimes get fuzzy spots around the texts. Difficult to get Pantone colours, even after adjusting cmyk on software - illustrator. - Printer used for printing stationery

This looked like a good printer on paper and we may have just bought a lemon but this printer has had issues from day one. Didn't want to accept the ink that came with it, hangs up when turned on, says that Initialization complete but just sits there until it is turned off and back on again. When it works the out put is good, very good quality and speed. Cost per page is rather high, the solid ink cartridges and maintenance kits are way too expensive. And yesterday it died after printing less than 50,000 pages. Xerox wants to send a repairman out at a cost of $300 for first 1/2 hour, plus parts. About the cost of a new unit one on Amazon. I think we are done with Xerox, back to HP.

I wouldn't buy one again! 3000 pages later and it's died ! £500 printer £180 ink and it's a Lemon.. Xerox know about a factory fault with these machines made on the cheap in China " Power Pack " item number 112E01180 a known FAULT! the printer if turned off over the weekend or a break to save electricity will not then power back up DEAD! Xerox don't want to know and speaking with the sales man at the printer supplier quote " HP are on the ball now. They had cleaned up a lot of angry Ex Xerox owners because of this known Fault. so much so they are offering a 3 year warranty on their products to make sure customers know they are safe with HP. Personally I think Xerox have rested on their good name in recent years and it's come back to bite them " I totally agree with him i am 3 Xerox printers in, and this has hardly lasted ! I'm so gutted and Xerox customer service to date has been poor! they offer a repair service that's more than the cost of the machine! And the part which prob cost them $25 they want Euro's 275!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAXI for Xerox your out of here!!!!! never ever again. You have ripped me off!

Really!!! Lies Really ?... I will see you in court then...arm chair expert!

All the above is 100% true and because of this review by me. Xerox sent an engineer round to fix the machine. He in turn, spilled the beans.... the unit has a well known fault that Xerox know about.. basically because I put it out there in the public domain they came and fixed it..( surprised the hell of me when he turned up at the office out the blue! see you should fill out those extended warantee forms in the box. ) The replacement board that I have now is a fix to the main fault and to date the machine has been working perfectly. Restoring my faith back in Xerox. Would I buy Xerox again.. i would certainly look at it..

But to state this is Lies you are totally out of order.

Fair enough. My original comment is due to my skepticism of most online reviews and comments due to the practice of paid for by companies commenting and reviewing. All it takes is one bad review to persuade a potential customer not to buy product. And many companies today are abusing online comments to do just that. Thank you for reassuring us that you are not one of those, and I'm glad Xerox was able to fix the issue to your satisfaction.

Your mistake. Inkjets and sold ink printers need constant electricity, no "I will save over the weekend".

Er..... more arm chair experts.. Xerox them selves posted up on their face book page a post which totally runs rough shod over your comment.. They posted " Don't forget to power down your printer to save electricity and the environment. " Meaning to turn it off.. I personally never turn my printer off but leave it to go into the power down mode where it sleeps.. UNLESS I am going away for a couple of weeks.. it is at this point that the " faulty board " power CCT failed.. and as a DIRECT result of me posting up Xerox's own post on the subject for this VERY machine they sent an engineer round to replace my said " FAULTY POWER CCT Board!!! " a known fault with the machines.. I must point out since they did change the CCT board the printer has been brilliant and I am on 10,000 pages now not the 2000 pages when it blew up!! and all is well.. still the streak lines but I am of the conclusion that this is always going to be the case with Xerox machines. So in answer... No it's not my bloody mistake!!! :-)

just seen your reply LOL... Skepticism ?? what ever :-) lol... anyway it's still plodding along and the engineer that came round was right the new CCT board with the updated power CCT has done the trick I am currently on 10,000+ pages and so far all is well... restoring my faith in Xerox.. it's certainly a lot better than the 2000 pages I got before it blew up! :-/

Basically I had a fault, turns out that Xerox knew about the faulty CCT board. They had upgraded the board but only in new production machines and not ones in warantee or just out side of it.. they played a game of who will kick up a fuss.. well i did and they came round and fixed it and all is well and I have to say the updated CCT board was the fix and is the fix and I have a good machine and I would buy another. This is my 3rd one over the years.

BUT read first!!! before commenting and getting it wrong!! so many arm chair experts I can't believe how they know so much from the sofa! LOL

yep... now on 10,000 pages and still going strong..

I am just glad Xerox owned up to this weak power board they had used.. every machine will have a fault of some sort that crops up.. but this was a known fault that's been fixed now.. I just feel for any one who bought a machine and ended up binning it... not knowing about the CCT board issue..

But all is well and I hope to get abit more out of it before it goes bang again :-)
