Ticketmaster has announced it will soon be selling event tickets directly through Facebook.
The new tool will make it easy for users to buy tickets directly from a Facebook event page, without having to leave the site or the app.
The integration will begin at the end of April, a Ticketmaster executive told Buzzfeed News.
“By putting the ability to buy tickets directly within Facebook we hope that we’re going to provide a more seamless purchase experience and sell more tickets,” said Dan Armstrong, Ticketmaster’s VP and GM of distributed commerce.
The tie in will begin with a few, select general admission events in the United States, so there’ll be no opportunity to pick seats at this time.
Although tickets will be purchased from within Facebook, event-goers will still need to visit Ticketmaster in order to claim their tickets.
For it’s troubles, Facebook will earn an affiliate fee from Ticketmaster. The nature of that fee remains undisclosed.
Ticketmaster is just the latest company to enable purchases from within the all-conquering social network. Uber and Lyft also offer the ability to book a ride, but from within the Messenger app.
