UE Megaboom chases down F1 fans with McLaren special edition

Ultimate Ears is releasing a pair of special edition McLaren branded Megaboom speakers, adorned with the colour schemes of two iconic cars, the MCL33 and the MP4/4.

Ultimate Ears Bluetooth speakers are amongst the best around. They’ve got a nice punchy sound, good battery life, and many of them are encased in a waterproof enclosure as part of the bargain.

But their biggest issue is that they don’t yet feature the colour schemes of classic racing cars.

UE is looking to fix this particular issue with a pair of new special edition speakers. One celebrates the MCL33 car used in the 2018 Grand Prix, while the other is based on the MP4/4, which competed back in the 1988 championship where it won literally all but one race and became the most dominant single season car of all time.

Inside, the speakers still feature the same internals as the excellent 20-hour Megaboom, which means you’re not sacrificing anything if you want to opt for the bolder colour schemes.

The new speaker will be available for £219 from May 11.
